My VERY favorite book of all-time is ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’. Atticus Finch was not only the epitome of a gentleman, but a beautiful, self-actualized soul of reason that *any* human being can have, with the will in their heart. Atticus said:

“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view – until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.”

As you go through life being judged — and you always will — you must understand where these judgements come from. As I always tell my 9-year-old daughter, “Callous prejudgement comes from one of 3 things: fear, jealousy, or a deep need to feel better than someone else based on insecurities.” YOU are not responsible for any of this. YOU cannot change a person, nor should you pay any mind to how they perceive you. The best you can do is your best. The rest is left up to those who have too much time to focus on you because they don’t want to have to look into themselves. How you can make a difference is MAKING the difference — instead of focusing on those who want to pull you down, pull someone else up (even if it is them). There’s a term that goes, “Kill ‘em with kindness.” Well, never do anything that is not genuine, or does not promote what you stand for, but if you can prove to ONE person that standing true and being noble is a worthy investment in the betterment of human kind…… I promise you that you won’t ever regret how it makes you — and someone else — feel. Even if their behavior persists, you can sleep well at night feeling proud of yourself for not folding to their manipulation. Go GALLANT!
