It is oh so, so wonderful to have family, friends, and partners to turn to in tremendous times, toilsome times, and traumatic times. This is a given truth. (Even companions of the furry kind!) But, it is always important to know that when people are either: gone from this earth, maybe not as steadfast or loyal as you thought, or have changed paths that are no longer the same as yours, that you can — and will! — be alright without them. There is no doubt that loving with all your heart is one of the most courageous things you can do, but be careful of never being too dependent. Trust is a privilege, so trust in yourself first! The truest people in your life will be fixtures as long as they can (and even leaving you with some great life skills when they’re no longer with you), but have full faith in YOURSELF that you can do anything without them. The goal is to surround yourself with those who make you feel that it is you and them against the world, together…… but that is after you realize that you can begin ANYTHING on your own, and carry it out until the end, if need be. Be gallant to yourself, first, Gallant Girls! Then you will have so much more to give to those who deserve your chivalrous, valorous, valiant, and brave unconditional love.
